Surrey, BC (September 17, 2019) – The Noel Asmar Group, the successful lifestyle brand behind Noel Asmar Uniforms, Pedicurebowls.com and Asmar Equestrian, is this year’s overall winner for the Innovation of the Year Award presented by the International SPA Association (ISPA) for its first ever line of eco-friendly athleisure uniforms made from recycled plastic. Presented annually to deserving ISPA members, the Innovate Awards celebrate innovations happening within the Spa industry, recognizing the companies, products and people that are bringing new ideas to life.

Last Sunday Hurricane Dorian made landfall in the Bahamas. It hovered over the islands as a Category 5 for 72 consecutive hours. The world sat in wonder and horror as the storm waged war on the northwest family islands of Abaco and Grand Bahama.
Carmen Portela is a travel and tourism professional with 20+ years of experience in marketing and product development. Carmen is born and raised in San Juan, Puerto Rico. In 2008, Portela founded Synapse, the first social media agency in Puerto Rico tailored to the hospitality space with projects and clients such as Wyndham Hotels (Puerto Rico & Grand Cayman), ESPN, Caribbean Tourism Organization, PGA Tour, FIBA Americas, Puerto Rico Tourism Company and the Municipality of Caguas.
